Terms and Conditions of use of the website SizaAtlas http://sizaatlas.iscte-iul.pt
These Terms and Conditions regulate the conditions applicable to the use of http://sizaatlas.iscte-iul.pt and the website that supports it.
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
SizaAtlas refers to the website available at http://sizaatlas.iscte-iul.pt, owned, operated, and managed by ISTAR – ISCTE. Its purpose is to inventory and document the architectural works of Álvaro Siza and make them freely available to the public through open access, with the aim of supporting the development of educational or scientific research.
The ISTAR-Information Sciences and Technologies and Architecture Research Centre is an ISCTE research centre that has the mission to carry out applied and multidisciplinary research in the convergence of areas like Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science and Information Technologies, Mathematics (applied to computational problems), Architecture and Urbanism (in its digital dimensions, either conceptual, modelling, simulation or fabrication). ISTAR is concerned with the analysis, design, construction and evaluation of human–based systems, focusing, in its creation, on the design of digital living spaces, on the design and construction of information systems and software systems engineering, and on systems computational modeling as understanding tools.
Any individual who accesses the content made available through the http://sizaatlas.iscte-iul.pt website, regardless of the manner in which they use it.
All information made available on the http://sizaatlas.iscte-iul.pt website, including but not limited to text, images (such as photographs, drawings, 3D models, graphics, videos, logos), audio, layout, and any other data that forms an integral part of the website.
The general terms and conditions of use of the website are those of ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa available at https://www.iscte-iul.pt/privacy.
All records and documents available at www.sizaatlas.iscte-iul.pt are protected by copyright. Access to the contents of the SizaAtlas website is provided free of charge and is exclusively intended to support educational or scientific research work.
The contents may be used under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license (https://creativecommons.org/share-your-work/cclicenses/), which permits copying and distribution of the material for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author. Users must also include the relevant copyright notice, the CC license notice, the disclaimer, and a link to the material. This condition does not apply to the documents of third parties, whose intellectual property rights are reserved to them.
Whenever users reproduce or disseminate part or all of the content accessed via http://sizaatlas.iscte-iul.pt, they must, in addition to complying with these Terms and Conditions, cite the SizaAtlas website as the source and include the date on which the content was accessed.
Users must scrupulously comply with the applicable law, particularly, but not exclusively, with regard to copyright, and are fully responsible for any breach of the law or unlawful use of the content.
The documents available in the SizaAtlas inventory that are provided by third parties as a courtesy, as well as those accessible via links to external websites, are subject to the privacy and intellectual property policies of the respective entities. These include archives such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation – Art Library, Serralves Foundation, Canadian Centre for Architecture, Drawing Matter, Municipal Councils, among others, as well as property owners and managers, and the authors of photographs and projects.
If you wish to use any of these documents, we recommend that you carefully review the applicable privacy and intellectual property policies and contact the relevant entities directly (see inventory credits for details).
The User recognises the possible existence of image rights on the part of the people represented or referenced in the documents, as well as copyrights or other intellectual property rights that may apply to the works reproduced therein. The user is solely responsible for any legal disputes that may arise from the use of such documents.
ISTAR-ISCTE is not responsible for third-party content accessed by the user via SizaAtlas, nor for any misuse of such content.
ISTAR-ISCTE is not responsible for any inaccuracies in the information or documentation made available by third parties.
ISTAR-ISCTE cannot be held liable, directly or indirectly, for any misuse by the user of third-party content made available on this website, nor for any inaccuracies such content may contain.
If users have any concerns or believe that any content on the SizaAtlas website infringes their intellectual property rights, they are encouraged to report the matter by contacting sizaatlas@iscte-iul.pt.
Any introduction, alteration, or deletion of information or features on the SizaAtlas website by the user, including but not limited to interference with the supporting IT system in a way that hinders or disrupts its operation, as well as any behavior that constitutes the commission of cyber-related crimes, is strictly prohibited and punishable under applicable law. ISTAR-ISCTE will take appropriate measures to ensure that offenders are held civilly and/or criminally liable.
ISTAR-ISCTE reserves the right to cancel or suspend the SizaAtlas website at any time and without prior notice. SizaAtlas may be temporarily suspended due to maintenance activities, the implementation of new developments, or other reasons. In such cases, ISTAR-ISCTE will make every effort to minimize any disruption to the website’s operation.
These Terms and Conditions of Service may be modified at any time and without prior notice. The date of the most recent update will be indicated at the end of this document.
